Job Description:

Job Purpose:

The Behavioral Health Services Statewide Administrator leads a large team of staff providing high-quality direct support services for mental health issues, substance use, and integrated care. This role is responsible for compliance with all program and funding requirements, identifying business development opportunities, cultivating and maintaining relationships with community leaders and members, local, state and federal government representatives, other organizations and funding and donor sources. LFS Behavioral Health providers are located across the state of Nebraska in: the Omaha metro, Sarpy County, Fremont, Grand Island, North Platte, and McCook.


Essential Job Duties: 

Organization Management

  • Implement management initiatives in Greater Nebraska LFS Behavioral Health programs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures of Behavioral Health Services programs.
  • Serve on LFS management workgroups as assigned.
  • Travel across the state to attend meetings that promote services and activities of LFS.
  • Serve as active member of LFS Leadership Team and Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure good stewardship of Behavioral Health program’s resources.
  • Participate on the LFS Quality Council.
  • Coordinate Behavioral Health program with the Regional Administrator for Behavior Health for Southeast Nebraska.


Behavioral Health Services Program Management

  • Directly supervise Clinical Supervisors and the Region 6 Services Manager.
  • Ensure LFS Behavioral Health Services quality and integrity of service delivery through continuous quality assurance/improvement practices.
  • Oversee LFS Behavioral Health Services compliance with all state/federal laws and regulations.
  • Manage LFS Behavioral Health Services requirements related to service delivery, contracting and accreditation.
  • Oversee implementation of COA standards pertinent to Behavioral Health Service programs and operations in Greater Nebraska.
  • Provide budget development, oversight and management for Behavioral Health Services in Greater NE.
  • Provide Vice President of Program analysis/recommendations regarding Greater Nebraska Behavioral Health Services program operations based on monthly financial statements, accounts receivable reports and programmatic trends.
  • Analyze and oversee LFS Behavioral Health Services staffing patterns and assignments.
  • Develop and implement LFS Behavioral Health Services policies and procedures.


Strategic Planning

  • Provide leadership to the strategic planning process for Behavioral Health Services in the Eastern and Greater Nebraska regions.
  • Identify trends, both internal and external to the agency, and utilize them to assist in formulating a vision of the organization’s future.


Program Expansion/Development/Grants Management

  • Actively seek out opportunities for LFS Behavioral Health Services new and current service delivery growth and expansion.
  • Work with the Regional Administrator of Behavioral Health and the other core competencies Statewide Administrators and leadership to integrate and or expand behavioral health services.
  • Coordinate and oversee grant proposals for new, current or expanded LFS Behavioral Health Services in Eastern and Greater Nebraska.
  • Develop and maintain on-going positive relationships with key funding sources: public and private local, state and national.
  • Negotiate LFS Behavioral Health Service contract with designated partners and funders.


Community Relations

  • Serve on planning, regulatory, and funding committees related to behavioral health at the local, state and national level.
  • Network with other public and private agencies and funders throughout the state.
  • Advocate for behavioral health consumers and policies as approved by the LFS executive management.
  • Oversee marketing and promotion of LFS Behavioral Health Services in Greater Nebraska.



Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field, business, or public administration required; Masters Degree preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in behavioral health services
  • 5-10 years’ progressive management and supervisory experience
  • Licensed as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) in the State of Nebraska helpful but not required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with finance, budgeting, grant writing and contracting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license and ability to travel on organization business
