The Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools (cyfs.unl.edu) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking two full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) behavioral consultant positions on a project entitled “Teachers and Parents as Partners: A Family-School Intervention Supporting Latino Student Success”. Responsibilities for both positions involve implementing and researching a conjoint consultation approach to assist parents and teachers in providing effective interventions for kindergarten-3rd grade students with disruptive behaviors that interfere with learning.
With these positions, we are seeking qualified persons to fill ten-month consultant positions (August-May), renewable for up to four years. The compensation package includes a competitive salary and health insurance. The position requires driving to schools and homes providing direct consultation services, and collaborating with teachers and parents of students in Grades K–3 who have behavioral concerns.
Persons hired to fill these available positions will have a master’s degree and professional experience in schools, preferably working with teachers and parents. Knowledge and experience in the following areas is required: (a) students with behavioral challenges, (b) problem solving consultation models, and (c) evidence-based behavioral interventions. It is also necessary that applicants demonstrate a great deal of responsibility, professionalism, and excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required. Some early morning and evening availability will be required.
