The Lincoln Regional Center, a Joint Commission accredited psychiatric facility, is looking for personable and self – motivated professional to join our team as a Mental Health Practitioner II at  $22.029 

Provisionally licensed applicants will be considered and will be hired as Mental Health Practitioner I until fully licensed at $18.778

8am - 5pm with days off each week to be determined. Will be required to work one weekend shift per week. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Counsel patients in the areas of education, vocation, living skills and/or interpersonal relationships in a social environment to understand, solve, prevent and/or cope with, identified needs and problems
  • Provide individual therapeutic interventions following a theory-based approach which uses counseling techniques to deal with thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the treatment of mental or emotional disorders and maladjustment's to relieve emotional distress, attain insight into the nature of the individual's problem and/or assist the person in decision making and acquiring new behavior
  • Create curriculum and provide group therapeutic interventions following a theoretical pattern or modality which utilizes group dynamics to facilitate communicating about thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to produce changes that help individuals with the group to relieve emotional distress, attain insight into the nature of the participant's problem and/or to improve adaptive functioning, interpersonal relationships and social functioning
  • Compile progress notes and documents assessments and treatment activities to comply with governing standards
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or serves as a member to ensure completeness of individual treatment plans, coordinate treatment needs, other case management functions, and/or to update treatment plans and is active participant in the interdisciplinary team.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or possesses another license that allows the incumbent to provide the above mental health services as required by Statute 71-1314. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources, Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner AND 3000 hours of post-degree supervised counseling experience.
Will consider Provisional Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP). Provisionally licensed will be hired as Mental Health Practitioner I until fully licensed. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Development, Psychology, Family Relations, Vocational Rehabilitation, Art Therapy, Divinity, Human Resources,Naturopathy, Mental Health or other field related to and approved by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in order to become a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. Must possess a provisional license for mental health practice.

PREFERRED: Experience leading group therapy and developing group curriculum. Knowledge and experience working with serious and persistent mental illness and personality disorder diagnoses. License Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) to work with substance abuse issues preferred.
