Outpatient Therapist

Licensed Mental Health Practitioner/Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LMHP/LADC)

Will consider provisional


Successful candidate will assess and treat individuals with mental, emotional, and/or substance abuse problems. Duties may include individual/family/group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention and education. Must have graduated from an accredited school in Social Work of Psychology. Must have a current LMHP, LADC, PLMHP, or PLADC license along with a current Nebraska license.


Position Summary

Provide individual, family, or group counseling to individuals with mental health problems and/or substance abuse problems.


Essential Job Functions

  1. Practice sound principles of Medical Psychiatric and/or Mental Health provider at public health level. Willing to participate in both client service and outreach services.
  2. Participate in the decision making process concerning the delivery of mental health services.
  3. Provide traditional outpatient therapy services as related to mental health and/or substance abuse.
  4. Provide drug and alcohol evaluation.
  5. Maintain confidentiality
  6. Refer clients to other sources of health care/community resources as indicated. Follow up with clients who may require referral.
  7. Follow up with clients suspected of abnormal conditions.
  8. Participate in the quality assurance component of the clinic.
  9. Participate in education for staff/in-service.
  10. Ongoing continuing education including seminars, periodical/journal review, newsletters, etc.
  11. Preferred: Bi-lingual awareness of the needs of our uninsured clients, otherwise, willingness to be trained in cultural competence.
  12. Other duties as assigned.


Graduate from an accredited school of Social Work or Psychology.

Must have current mental health license as LMHP/PLMHP and LADC/PLADC.

Required Skills

Must have good knowledge of mental health practice. Must adhere to the mental health provider code of ethics.

Preferred Skills

Ability to speak Spanish not required bur preferable. Ability to work with an interpreter if needed.
