Job Description

Lincoln Behavioral Health Clinic is offering an exciting opportunity to develop a private practice within the structure of a 27-year-old Mental/Behavioral outpatient setting. We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team! This professional will work collaboratively within a group of psychologists, therapists, and other APRN providers.

The practice is located in south Lincoln; a partially furnished office is provided. We offer front office staff for scheduling support, in-house APRN providers for medication management referrals, and a billing manager to assist you with insurance paneling. Job Requirements


  • Diagnose, case management, and treatment planning
  • Provide medication management and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests
  • Perform client medication assessment
  • Instruct and educate client and client’s family regarding medications, client’s condition, and treatment instructions
  • Focus on health promotion and disease prevention
  • Establish open lines of communication
  • Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner


  • Graduate of master’s or post master’s program from an accredited school/college of nursing
  • Current Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner licensure from the State of Nebraska
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state
  • Federal DEA licensure.
  • Previous experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Sub-specialty in Child & Adolescent Mental Health or Family Mental Health
  • Ability to function with autonomy and able to make independent decisions while functioning as part of a comprehensive team
  • Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms
  • Ability to provide critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Efficient use of health information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and eScribe
  • Able to comprehend and follow policy, procedure, guidelines, and protocols
  • Flexibility and dedication to team involvement and supporting organizational goals
  • Familiarity with community mental health resources
  • Effective interpersonal skills
