The Early Childhood Behavioral Health Consultant I provides assessment, behavioral interventions, and support to children and their families. He or she also maintains resources and provides training to early childhood education professionals, parents and community. He or she may provide coaching to early childhood educators through the KidSquad* program, using the Positive Behavioral Supports/Teaching Pyramid model. All services are provided professionally and ethically, in accordance with State of Nebraska, HIPAA, and insurance guidelines. Work is performed in a classroom, office and at homes of children and family. Additional work may be performed in a variety of settings to meet client and organizational needs.
Provide psycho-social assessment of children to identify developmental, behavioral, and social emotional needs. Help develop and implement individualized therapeutic services for identified children. Provide consultation and coaching to teachers and administrators regarding intervention strategies with identified children, primarily in classrooms. Provide consultation with parents of involved children on a regular and consistent basis, recommending counseling, parent education and other referral services as needed. Maintain client files to include appropriate documentation. Complete training necessary for professional growth.
